About Autism
Autism is a neurological difference that affects how a person experiences the world, communicates, and interacts with others. It is not a disease, disorder, or something that needs to be cured—it is simply a different way of being. Autistic people have unique strengths, challenges, and perspectives, just like anyone else. Unfortunately, misconceptions about autism persist, often painting it as a tragedy or something inherently negative. In reality, autism is a natural part of human diversity, and understanding it requires an open mind and a willingness to listen to autistic voices.
As an autistic woman, I am doing my best to share the story of autism through my own eyes. By using my personal experiences, I hope to break down stereotypes and help people reevaluate their ideas of what autism is or should be. Too often, society defines autism based on outdated or narrow perspectives, overlooking the rich diversity within the autistic community. My goal is to create more awareness and acceptance by showing that autism is not a one-size-fits-all condition, but rather a spectrum of unique individuals with different needs, strengths, and ways of experiencing the world. Through my voice, I hope to inspire understanding, empathy, and a shift toward true inclusion.
