Hey guys, it's been a while since my last post and I have some very exciting news. Welcome the new addition to the Martins household!
This is Oliver, my baby and the love of my life. We got him in August of last year when he was only 9 weeks old. It took a very long time to persuade my mother to get a dog, 8 years to be precise, but once me and my brother got our father on board, persuading my mother wasn't too much of a trial anymore.
It's been 5 months since this little beauty first moved in with us, and I have loved every second of his presence. The first few weeks were rather exciting and full of hard work; I had to wake up at 4 am every morning to place him on his training pads in order to teach him to go potty in the right place and not pee in his bed, and then I'd let him go back to sleep. He used to wake up around at around 6 am and bark for someone to come to him as he felt hungry and lonely, I'd get up and give him the attention he desired, each and every morning, leaving me extremely tired. It was almost like taking care of a baby.
He is almost 8 months old now and is highly spoiled and extremely loved. Me and my brother have taught him to potty outside, to sit, lie down, roll over, high five and beg. In my opinion he is by far the cutest and smartest animal I have ever met, and as a future zookeeper studying an Animal Management Degree I have met many great and wonderful animals. I have found that taking care of another creature as small and as pure as Oliver, I have learnt to be more patient and have found true happiness in his company. He is indeed a true blessing in my life!
