(Review) The Woman in Black by Susan Hill
The book wasn't as scary as I hoped it would be. At times I was slightly creeped out but not enough to enjoy it. The ending I felt was rushed and I prefer the ending of the movie to the book. I liked how the book helped enlighten several questions that were left unanswered by the movie, and thus found the book enjoyable in that sense. I would say the book was entertaining and worth the read, but in terms of scare an adrenaline, the movie was better. The scene with the dog and

(Book Review) The Haunting of James Hastings by Christopher Ransom
A psychotic roller coaster. What begins as a seemingly straightforward paranormal tale quickly spirals into something much more complex and unsettling. The opening draws you in with an eerie, supernatural vibe, but the middle hits you with layers of confusion, psychological twists, and moments that make you question everything you thought you understood. By the time you reach the final chapters, there’s a lot to unravel, threads that suddenly snap into place, revelations that

(Review) This Wretched Valley by Jenny Kiefer
I found a full free audiobook of this horror novel on YouTube, I'll link it here: https://youtu.be/JDsqed_AMnE?si=qIYVc9Qvh1eVaIxZ It is beautifully read, the narrator capturing the voices of each character. Definitely worth the listen! The book itself was creepy and tormenting. A forest so haunted it turned the four campers against each other. With horrifying images, and devilish ghosts causing the group to go absolutely insane. Beautifully read, wonderfully written, and ex

(Review) The Folcroft Ghosts by Darcy Coates
I have been able to find full audiobooks on YouTube, were you aware they some people often upload full audiobooks to YouTube? It’s great for someone like me who enjoys a good audiobook from time to time and doesn't really want to fund the greedy piece of shit that runs Amazon by subscribing to Audible. I also know there are other audiobook providers but at the money finance is tight and so this new finding is fantastic. Anyways one of the books that I recently heard on YT was

(Book Review) The House Next Door by Darcy Coates
Extremely creepy book full of plot twists. There were moments you thought the book was about to end but then another plot twist would arise and continue, this was something I really enjoyed in the story and had not before experienced. It was extremely haunting and gave me chills through almost every page. I love a good Darcy Coates read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

REVIEW - 'A Tropical Fish Yearns for Snow' purely queer bait? (CONTAINS SPOILERS)
A Tropical Fish Yearns for Snow begins with great Yuri promise. In book 1 we're introduced to 2 girls who seem to feel some form of attraction for each other that they cannot yet understand. The first words muttered between the two main protagonists are " Do you like salamanders ?" as they both look intently into each others eyes, to which protagonist number 1, Konatsu Amano, immediately thinks "Is this pretty girl talking to me ?" After this initial encounter, Konatsu heads

Review of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by an Autistic person.
In the video linked above, I give my extensive thoughts and opinions on the book called The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time . A story about a teenage boy with Autism who tries to discover who killed his neighbour's dog, whom he really loved, as he wanted to find out and have that person punished. Being that I too am Autistic I express how several of the protagonist's mannerisms correlate with my only Autistic mannerisms and how Autism affects me in contrast to t

How Dracula is getting me into Journaling
I'm currently reading Dracula by Bram Stoker for bucket list goal number #235 A-Z Author Challenge, and from reading it, despite my laziness to pick up the book sometimes, I am actually very much enjoying it. I think the old English slows me down a little, but I'm getting better with it. So far, I'm on page 240, just over halfway into my copy of the book, and there are a few things I have learnt about journaling already. The first and main thing being a passage that truly ope

What I learnt from The Metamorphosis
One thing I learnt from Metamorphosis, the story by Kafka, is that even when we are face to face with a being that needs our help, there are times where we would prefer to sit and judge their situation. We feel disgusted. We feel shame. We feel pride. We feel uncomfortable. We feel guilty. We may even feel burdened by that other being. One day we will all die. This is a fact of life. And, I've heard say that when seniors pass away they tend to say that their biggest mistakes

A Week of Children's Books. (With book reviews)
Hi, my name is Natacha and I'm a 25 year old who spent this past week reading kids books. Why, you ask? Good question. These kids books just so happened to have been on my bucket list. The reason as to why they were there in the first place is due to the fact that as a child I used to read tons and tons of books. I watched The Borrowers, and I watched Stuart Little. And yet, somehow I managed to have gone the whole of my childhood and unknowingly skip past them. I guess my us
